Dear Earth Alliance Team,

We are writing to you as a group of young people under 18 who have created a fast-growing reforestation initiative in France: the Colibri Reforestation Project of the Pays Mornantais (Rhône Department).

Since November 2024, we have decided to act locally, simply, and concretely.We collect seeds from our local forests, grow them in school nurseries, and plant the young trees in our municipalities together with hundreds of fellow students.

Today, our results speak for themselves:

• More than 4,000 trees planted,

• Nearly 3,000 students involved,

• Several school-based nurseries already operating,

• Local partnerships with municipalities, COPAMO, CNPF and environmental institutions,

• And 5,000 young trees currently growing for 2026.

Our initiative is 100% youth-led, non-political, community-driven and based on a simple idea:

➡️ One tree planted every year by every student in France — and, in the long term, by every student in Europe.

We admire Earth Alliance and the work of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, especially your commitment to ecosystem restoration, youth engagement, and scalable grassroots solutions.Our project fits exactly within that vision: it is replicable, low-cost, educational, concrete and deeply empowering for young people.
